James Riley
James studied land base technology at Easton college from 2006-2008.
He then worked for a silage contractor operating machinery for O. Arnold Contracting during his college years on ‘day release’ then went full time once he had finished college, operating twin silage mowers, bale wrapping, bailing and bale carting.
After harvest he went a further a field and moved to New Zealand for 6 months where he lived, worked and travelled. James also worked for a silage contractor in N.Z. Operated triple mowers, bailing, tube wrapping, tedding and also some direct drilling.
When he returned from New Zealand James went back and worked for O. Arnold for a short period of time, then spent the summer working for one of the biggest contractors in the UK N. T. Clarkson down near Chichester also working with silage machinery but spent the majority of his time on a 6 furrow plough.
After the summer he went and worked on a sugar beet trailer for a season September 2009 to February 2010 working with P. J. Stent Ltd. After the sugar beet season James then became fully employed by Salle Farms Company. James was a general farm worker but had Jobs from workshop maintenance to a relief sprayer driver and also running big cultivation equipment on big tracked machinery throughout the busy periods. While at Salle through the summer 2011 James went out to Poland to drive a Claas 580plus combine and to prepare winter seed bed for autumn drilling then returned from Poland mid September where he returned to join Salle’s sugar beet gang for the winter months finally finishing at Salle 23rd December.
James has now joined J Riley Agri as salesman for the Kockerling seed drill’s and tillage machines. |
